For us it’s not only about “Miss Aurora”, but also about meeting people that has an impact on our soul –
the fresh smell from the sea, the peace, the sound of the river and the clear beautiful colors that surrounds us.
We are so grateful that we are able to witness the exact moment when mother nature reveals herself to our guests, in all her glory.
Welcome to the authentic Northern Norway experience!
We'd love to hear from you
Northern lights chase with north Norwegian charm
We pick you up in Tromsø and take you by minibus on a chase for the magical Northern lights. With good local knowledge we will find the best area for the lights and good scenery for your pictures. To find a clear sky we will drive where we have to, even to inner Troms if needed. During the evening your guide will tell you interesting information about the Northern lights, both the science and the folklore. We will also show you how to adjust your camera settings for pictures of the northern lights, and we will take pictures of you with the lights for you to take home to show your family and friends. (Available for download in original size from our Flickr account). If the weather allows us, we make a bonfire and enjoy roasted marshmallows. We may also visit our lavvu (our modern Sami shelter) if it is available).
Occasionally the chance of a clear sky is low, and in that case we will advise you before the excursion starts to get your money refunded instead. We recommend to book more than one day during high season!

Wildlife, culture and scenery tour by RIB boat
What about the whales?
We cannot predict the migrational pattern of the whales, as they follow the herring, and the great flocks from the years back may not be back in the fjords surrounding Tromsø. However; if we have observation of whales in the area when you are visiting us, we will have focus on looking for the whales. Previous years we have been able to see the humpack whales and the orcas from November to January, so keep your fingers crossed!
We pick you up in Tromsø by bus and drive to our local community Kvaløyvågen. During the drive you can sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful coastal scenery while our expert guide informs you about the adventure that awaits and what to look for once you are on the boat.
This is a great opportunity to see our local village which has survived on fishing and farming for several generations and hear about the coastal culture. Our small community with 270 inhabitants has a local fish factory that is 100 years old, and the fish racks and the small fishing boats will give you an insight into how the people have lived their lives here. Midway through our tour we will go ashore on the small island; Gåsvær, a small island with a white traditional church that was founded and built by the local community. We have been allowed access inside, and you will be able to see for yourself what a traditional church of these parts looks like. We will also enjoy a warm cup of coffee or tea on the church steps while telling you about the culture and history of the island and surrounding area.
This tour is recommended for nature photographers, bird watchers and people that love to see the rural coastal landscape and we want you to keep your eyes open for all the wildlife that can be found in the area; such as reindeers, elk, whales, white-tailed eagles, golden eagles, king eider, shags, guillemots and little auks. We also have a big population of seals in our area and from time to time we see them pop their heads out from the water to look at us.
You will be provided with an extra layer of clothing and survival suits before the tour
